From the newsroom to the mic.
Alaattin Kılıç, on stage as Aladdin, is a Turkish-born stand-up comedian based in West Hollywood. Before comedy, he spent years as a journalist, working as a correspondent and producer for TRT World, and with RT and CLC Media in Paris. He created and hosted the award-winning show Straight Talk for more than 150 episodes.
Since moving to the US around 2023, he has taken that reporter's eye to the stage. He performs frequently at the Hollywood Improv and was part of Miami New Faces. His comedy decodes cultures and belonging for people with complicated answers to simple questions, filtered through life as an immigrant dad to his son, Atlas.
He speaks Turkish, English, Spanish, French, Urdu, and Hindi, which mostly means he can be misunderstood in six languages.

Long bio (300 words)
Aladdin (Alaattin Kılıç) is a Turkish-born stand-up comedian based in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, whose comedy decodes cultures, identity, and belonging for global-city people who never quite fit one box.
Before he ever picked up a mic, Aladdin spent years in journalism. He worked as a correspondent and producer for TRT World and also worked with RT and CLC Media in Paris. He created and hosted Straight Talk, an award-winning show that ran for more than 150 episodes. He also produced the viral video Turkey Center of the World, which reached more than 200 million impressions and earned a MarCom Platinum award for Viral Campaign.
His work has been recognized with an AVA Digital Platinum award (2025), a Communicator Award of Excellence for Best Podcast Host (2025), and MarCom Platinum and Gold awards (2024). In 2025 he served as a judge for the Stevie Awards.
Aladdin moved to the United States around 2023 and brought a reporter's instinct for detail to stand-up. He performs frequently at the Hollywood Improv and works rooms across Los Angeles, including the Ice House, the Laugh Factory, and Fourth Wall. He was also part of Miami New Faces.
He speaks Turkish, English, Spanish, French, Urdu, and Hindi, which gives him a front-row seat to how differently the world laughs, argues, and parents. On stage he translates between those worlds, finding the jokes in immigration paperwork, family expectations, and the endless question of where home really is. Much of his newest material comes from raising his son, Atlas, as an immigrant dad in Los Angeles, trying to pass down a culture while learning a new one himself.
